About BunnyEdit

When Sam leaps into Lester "Doc" Fuller, a former league pitcher now playing for the Galveston Mustangs, a AAA team there in Texas, in 1961, owned by Margaret Twilly, Bunny's mother, he also has to and eventually accomplishes keeping Bunny's affair with fellow Mustangs' pitcherChucky Myerwich (Neal McDonough), from getting found out by Maree, who threatens to kick him off of the team, which is no easy task, as the two young lovers seemingly made no attempt to hide their affair, as at times, they would clearly make out in public, before games, as well as in the Mustang's locker room after hours; He also has to resist her advances, as well as her mother's, as he discovers that hie leapee Doc had been sleeping with Margaret in order to get starts in games.

Margaret eventually finds out about Bunny and Chucky's liasions, anyway, as Sam gets her to refrain from kicking Chucky off of the team, as he eventually gets noticed by a big league scout, as he eventually gets his shot at the bigs, but at the expense of his relationship with Bunny, as she is influenced by Sam to end her involvement with the embittered, hard-drinking Chucky.
