James Sloyan (born February 24, 1940) is the actor who played the part of Florida District Attorney Theodore Moody in 1971 in the Season Three episode of Quantum Leap titled "Last Dance Before An Execution".

Career[]

One of Sloyan's earliest feature film credits was the 1973 classic The Sting. James later had a role in the 1978 NBC-TV mini-series Centennial. His voice is familiar to many as he is the spokesperson for Lexus. Sloyan made several appearances as Avery Baltus on the FOX network television series Party of Five.

James also appeared as Superintendent Hazen on several episodes of CBS-TV's Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. In the 1990s, Sloyan also made frequent appearances in the Star Trek spin-offs Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

Family/Personal life[]

Sloyan and wife Diedre Lenihan, an actress, have been married since 1973. They are the parents of actor Dan Sloyan and actress Samantha Sloyan.
