In the episode "Hurricane" Sam leaps into an Archie Necaise, the deputy sheriff of Jackson's Point, a small Mississippi town on August 17, 1969, right before Hurricane Camille hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He and his current girlfriend, Red Cross Nurse Cissy Davis (Marilyn Jones), are helping to evacuate Archie's ex-girlfriend Lisa, who still secretly covets Archie, which later causes a big problem as Lisa, who struggles with "fear of abondonment" issues in her inability and refusal to move on from her failed relationship with Archie, later plots to try to kill her best friend Cissy, in trying to win Archie back.
Her plan winds up getting foiled by Dr. Beckett as Archie, who manages to evacuate the apartment building before the hurricane hits in the process. Just as she reveals her true motives to Cissy she gets in a violent scuffle with her as Sam arrives and tackles Lisa just as she is about to deliver the fatal blow to a stunned Cissy. Lisa, in turns, tries to kill Cissy, Archie, and then herself but Sam stops her and in a few years Al says she'll be fine.
